Abstract

The PBS animated series, "Adventures from the Book of Virtues", will be utilized as a treatment intervention for aggressive second grade boys. This series was designed to promote profound moralistic themes. Fifty boys who receive t-scores of at least 66 on the Connor’s Teachers’ Rating scale, will be randomly assigned to either a treatment group or a control group. The control group will view "The Magic School Bus" for the duration of study, a program that is academically oriented. The study will be conducted over a 6 week time span, in which both groups will undergo 26 sessions; 13 video periods and 13 discussion periods. It is hypothesized that exposure to the "Adventures from the Book of Virtues" video series will lead to lower aggression ratings than exposure to the "The Magic School".
