Introduction
 This is my first frame set, which contains a drawing of a cross sectional slice of a rat's forebrain.  The drawing was made from a slide containing 50 micrometer sections, which were sliced using a freezing microtome.  The sections were then Nissl stained using the dye Crysel Violet.  A picture of the stained section can be viewed Here.  Several ares of intrested contained within this slide are the Dentate Gyrus, the Mammillothalamic Tract, the Fornix, and the 3rd Ventricle.  A list of both the terms and abbreviations contained within the stained section are located below.  To return to the drawing of the section please click Here.
