Colleen Mahon is in her second season as head coach at The University of Scranton.  In addition, she served as head coach of the Royals' field hockey program for the past three years

A native and current resident of Shavertown, Pennsylvania, Mahon was a two-sport standout at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in behavioral science with a minor in art in 2005.

As a four-year letter-winner on the Ranger field hockey team, she was a four-time all-Freedom Conference first-team selection and was named the league’s rookie (2001) and player of the year (2004).  She is the Rangers’ all-time leader in assists (47) and consecutive games played and started (85).  She was also named third-team all-American by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) in 2004.

In three seasons as a member of the Drew softball team, she batted .332, which is 10th on the Rangers’ all-time list, and finished fourth in career stolen bases with 22.    She earned all-regional honors in 2003 after leading Drew with a .358 batting average.  During her tenure in a Ranger uniform, Drew posted a 65-40 (.619) record.

She was named the Drew University Alumni Association Female Athlete of the Year in 2004-2005.
