SHRM® Learning System Course


In 2008, the University of Scranton, Center for Professional Training and Development received a "Certificate of Recognition" from the Society for Human Resources (SHRM) for our 100% pass rate in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

The course prepares professionals for the Professional in Human Resource (PHR) and the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification exams. Overview of Curriculum

The SHRM® Learning System Course is designed to provide an overview of key areas in human resource management. Materials include six modules that correspond to the six functional areas, responsibilities, and associated knowledge as defined by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). The program is offered in cooperation with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM®) as study material for the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior Pro­fessional in Human Resources (SPHR) certi­fication examinations administered by HRCI.

Certification Information
To earn either the PHR or SPHR designation, candidates must have at least two years of exempt-level experience in the HR field.
There is no course of study that guarantees success on the HRCI examinations, but thousands of individuals have used the SHRM® Learning System to study for the exams. We have a 100% pass rate for two years in a row.

About the SHRM Learning System

Fee:
$1,500 for SHRM members - $1,650 for non-members

Registration fee includes six workbooks that are based upon the HRCI test specifications and a certificate of completion.
Each module includes:

_ Exercises that apply to "real-world" -situations
_ Periodic progress checks, with approximately 300 printed questions throughout the course, to reinforce your learning, ensure your retention of the reading materials and provide test-taking practice
_A software component designed to help increase performance on certification exams and encourage more strategic thinking on HR issues
_Individual post-module testing that allows you to assess your HR knowledge in each functional area
_A Guide to Smart Test Taking to help improve your test-taking skills

 Testing Computer-based testing for SHRM Certification:
All tests are provided through Prometric test centers nationally.
Preliminary pass/fail status will be available upon completion of the exam.

NOTE:   Registration for this course does not include registration for the national PHR/SPHR exam.
