Company Billing: Letter of authorization on

Letters of Authorization
Letters of authorization must be on company letterhead, dated, and
include the student’s name, the course(s) and/or program(s) being registered
for, the amount the company will pay, and billing information.
Deferred Billing
Deferred billing can be arranged for individuals whose employers will pay
for training and education upon completion. Call 941-7582 for an information or
application.
Confirmations
Your enrollment will be confirmed with a letter and parking permit (if
applicable), provided your registration is received at least one week prior to
class start date. If you do not receive confirmation, please call us at 941-7582
to confirm your enrollment.
Substitutions and
Cancellations
Substitutions: If you cannot attend you may substitute another person or
transfer to another course.
Cancellations: The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone class due
to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances
Alumni Discount
University of Scranton alumni are eligible for an alumni discount on
non-credit CPTD programs. Alumni receive a 20% discount
per registration, per program when registering. Exclusions are:
certification tests, software prep programs, PA tax seminar, real estate
courses, the SHRM program, and on-line non-credit courses and packages.
No discount will be granted after registration and payment is received.
Only one discount per course/program/package.
Multiple Registration Discount
Companies or organizations registering 5 or more employees in a
Center for Professional Training and Development course receive a 15% discount.
Continuing Education Units (CEU’s)
Continuing Education Units are a nationally recognized standard for
recording the efforts of individuals who enroll and satisfactorily complete
continuing education non-credit programs and training. A CEU is awarded on a
standard of one unit for every 10 hours of classroom instruction.
Act 48
The University of Scranton's Center for Professional Training and
Development is approved
by the Pennsylvania Department of Education
to provide Act 48 credits for educators.
CPE Credit
Continuing Professional Education
CPE’s are awarded by the Pennsylvania State Board of Accounting. PSBA awards
one credit hour for each 50 minutes of in class participation. Programs must
be submitted and approved by PSBA.
Credit Courses: Accountants can earn 15 CPE credits for each semester credit
hour earned and 10 credit hours for each quarter credit hour earned.
ANCC
The University’s Center for Professional Training and Development has submitted a number
of courses to the Pennsylvania State Nursing Association for the professional
development needs of nurses. Approval by ANCC is noted after each
program/course.
Lifetime Learning Tax Credit
Students may be eligible for a federal tax credit, worth 20% of their
total educational expenses, up to a maximum of $1,000. For more information
consult the Internal Revenue Service or your tax preparer.
