Students will learn the basics of creating object-oriented programs and the basic components of the JAVA language. It introduces students to more complex components of the language. Students will learn how to create JAVA applications, to create well written graphical applications which perform file/database manipulation and properly handle error conditions.

This course is an introduction to the use of JAVA for Web and Internet programming. Students will be introduced to Java Server Pages (JSP), Servlets, and JavaBeans.   When used together, these three server side technologies enable the creation of complex web based applications.  Through in-class, hands-on demonstrations students will create interactive Web applications.

 Introduction to Netbeans

Netbeans is a powerful, feature-rich JAVA development environment with support for all major JAVA technologies.  Netbeans provides users with an easy to use project management system.  It supports development of code which utilizes all of the latest JAVA technologies including JDVC, JSP, Servlets, Beans, RMI, and XML.  Netbeans can be used to create GUI, stand alone and web-based applications.   Students will create stand-alone, web-based and graphical applications.

Programming using JAVA Server Faces (JSF)
