  4. A proposal was brought up that O’Hara Hall room 120 could be designated a

study room for adult students due to concerns on the lack of quite areas for

study.  Also, it was proposed that coffee would be made available.  This idea will

 need further discussion.

Spring Trip – The first round of discussion about the spring trip included the possibility of pre-ordering Lion King tickets.  The trip is being proposed to take place on the last weekend of April 2003.  Kathy Elkins volunteered to check on ticket info.  At present, the government plans to pre-order 40 tickets (if available) and is taking early requests from Dexter Hanley student for discounted tickets.
  2.  U of S Council (former Senate) – Nick Mielo attended representing Dexter Hanley.  He is scheduled to provide an update on issues covered at the next scheduled meeting.
  3. Mystery Theatre Dinner, Saturday, October 26 at 9:00pm- Attendees of last year’s dinner gave the program “rave reviews.”  It will be held at the Gunster Center and attendees are encourage to look for clues and try to solve the “who dun it?” mystery.  Prizes will be awarded.  Dexter Hanley will have 40 seats available, no prices have been quoted as of yet. It was stated that there is a need for a committee to see to the cooperation between the Dexter Hanley and University governments in concerning the project.
  4. The Dean has asked us if we would be willing to provide payment for the

transportation of our student government member, Leo Lynn.  The office of equity and diversity used to cover this expense, however they have budget restraints this year and can no longer provide the service for Leo.  Payment for the van transportation is $75 for each trip.  We are setting precedence here, so if we decide to cover the payment for Leo, all future student government members with disabilities would have their transportation covered as well.  Government member’s thoughts or concerns are needed ASAP.
