Spring 2009
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Department Enrolls Nearly 1,500 Students
in Spring 2009 Courses
After a fall semester that drew some 1,480 students to courses offered in the Department History, the spring enrollments have matched that number. Of the nearly 1,500 students enrolled, for spring, about 1,200 are enrolled in History and Geography courses, while an additional 250 students are taking art, art history and music history courses.
The Department continues to offer courses of choice for students seeking to complete their General Education requirements as well as majors and minors.
Two Faculty Searches Continue
Two search committees in the Department continue the process of filling two faculty positions to begin service in August, 2009.
The committee chaired by Dr. Roy Domenico has narrowed its applicants for a position in World History/Asian History while Dr. Robert Shaffern’s committee has determined its finalists for the position in Modern European History. Both committees will be welcoming candidates for on-campus interviews.
Both positions will be at the Assistant Professor level.
