Experience Dr. Carpenter has over 20 years of teaching experience in both the classroom and clinical settings. She currently teaches medical-surgical nursing as well as undergraduate and graduate research. She is the co-author of three textbooks that address the content areas of qualitative research, service learning and doctoral education. She is also the advisor to registered nurses returning to school for a bachelor's degree and directs the RN-BSN track of the program.

Research Research activities have focused on education in nursing, professional commitment, and chronic illness.
