Margarete Lieb Zalon, PhD, RN, CS

Experience Dr. Zalon has worked as a staff nurse and clinician in medical - surgical nursing at several major medical centers in New York City. She has also taught in a variety of settings: hospital associate degree and diploma programs, and at the University. Dr. Zalon was the director of a hospital based program.

Research Dr. Zalon's research has been in the area of pain and its management with a special focus on the elderly. Her current research project will examine the recovery of the elderly in the first three months after surgery.

Personal Statement "I love the challenge of helping students to become nurses and helping registered nurses to find renewal; in their careers. I am committed to strengthening the profession through active involvement in the nurses association. On a lighter note, I enjoy living in the country on what once was a farm, with my husband, cats, dog, and horse."
