Our faculty are actively engaged in research. Over the past ten years, the department has been awarded research grants totaling almost three million dollars. Our faculty conduct research in fields such as signal processing, computer aided design, robotics, machine vision, microprocessor controllers, superconductivity, acoustics, optics and science education. Many of these projects involve applied research with companies in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Our majors have ample opportunity to work with the department faculty on these research projects. Some of our students work as paid assistants during the summer months.

The success of our students is our greatest source of satisfaction. This is especially true in a close knit department such as ours. The demanding nature of our course work, in a supportive environment, allows our students to mature and develop into outstanding individuals in their professional careers.
