Department of Physical Therapy

The Physical Therapy Programs at The University of Scranton

QUICK FACTS


  • The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program is for persons who hold a baccalaureate degree and wish to become physical therapists. (Read more about the DPT and prerequisites)

  • The Transition DPT (t-DPT) Program for persons who are already physical therapists (masters and bachelors physical therapists). (Read more about the t-DPT)

  • There are no undergraduate degree programs in The Department of Physical Therapy. Applicants to the freshman class who wish to become physical therapists must earn a baccalaureate degree with a GPA of at least 3.0 in another major and complete the DPT prerequisites with grades of at least C before enrolling in the DPT Program. When applying to the freshman class, applicants may request evaluation for guaranteed assurance in the DPT program upon completion of a baccalaureate degree and the DPT prerequisites.   • Undergraduate students already enrolled at The University of Scranton can apply for admission to the DPT Program on a competitive basis. The DPT prerequisites must be completed with grades of at least C, and a baccalaureate degree must be completed with a GPA of at least 3.0 before enrollment in the DPT Program.   • Transfer students from other institutions are encouraged to apply to the DPT Program. The DPT prerequisites must be completed with grades of at least C, and a baccalaureate degree must be completed with a GPA of at least 3.0 before enrollment in the DPT Program.
