ALPHA KAPPA DELTA
(AKD)


Alpha Kappa Delta is the International Honor Society for Sociology students founded in 1920. The Pennsylvania Upsilon chapter was founded here on May 8, 1980.

Basic requirements are:

  • junior status
  • 18 credits in sociology
  • minimum overall GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale
  • minimum overall GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale 3.2 GPA in Sociology courses

A departmental induction ceremony/banquet is usually held each academic year to recognize those students who have been inducted into departmental honor societies (Alpha Kappa Delta, Alpha Phi Sigma and Sigma Phi Omega).

If you meet the eligibility requirements for AKD, please pick up an application for membership at Dr. Wolfer's office.
