The Sociology/Criminal Justice Department is a member of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) and is committed to excellence in criminal justice education, research and practice, and to the highest ethical and personnel standards in criminal justice education programs, operational agencies and allied fields. The department is also a member of the Association of Gerontology in Higher Education (AGHE), established for the purpose of fostering the development and increasing the commitment of higher education in the field of aging through education, research and public service.
