Employment Outcomes

Approximately 18% of our yearly graduates in criminal justice will pursue professional and/or graduate education in law, social work, criminology, accounting, school counseling, forensic science, etc. Of the remaining number of criminal justice majors (82.0%) who graduate every year and do not go on for further education, about 90.0% of this number will have found employment within the first 5 months after graduation in some type of entry-level (hyphen) job.
 

Departmental Computer Lab and Library

The location of this lab is in O'Hara Hall, Room 426. This lab consists of 10 - Pentium PC computers. There is an HP LaserJet III Printer. Software includes Windows 95, MS Office 2000 (which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), Adobe Acrobat, McAfee Anti-Virus, SPSS, PowerTerm32, Netscape Communicator and Internet Explorer.

The Departmental Library (O'Hara Hall, Room 420) has a collection of various Sociology/Criminal Justice periodicals available for research purposes. The library is also open for a study room.
 

SPECIAL RECOGNITION OF AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF SOME UNIVERSITY OF SCRANTON CRIMINAL JUSTICE MAJORS

Criminal justice majors have received prestigious and competitive Powell Scholar and Irish Study awards or scholarships. Our majors have been selected for highly competitive FBI Honor's, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and White House summer internships. A criminal justice major has been voted "Best Cadet" in her region. Department majors have participated in study abroad programs in England, Wales, Scotland, and Spain. Each year approximately 10% of the majors in the department are selected for inclusion in Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities.
