Word 2007 - Working with Headers & Footers

It has never been easier to work with headers and footers or create a different header for a first page.
- On the Ribbon click the tab Insert.
- Click on the icon Footer in the group Header and Footer and then choose Blank header.
- Press the keys [Ctrl]+[R] (keyboard shortcut to right align text).
- Type your name and then press Enter.
- Type Page, and then Press the spacebar.
- Click on Page Number in the group Header and Footer.
- Click on Current Position and then Plain Number.
- Review your pages, and then click on the Close Header and Footer icon.

Creating a Different Header/Footer for the First Page
- First open or create a document that contains two or more pages.
- For this example, repeat the first two steps from the prior example.
- In the group Options, check the option Different First Page. Word automatically moves to the next page. If for some reason Word did not move to the second page click anywhere in the second page of your document.
- Next, in the group Header and Footer click on Page Number and then the commands Bottom of Page, Plain Number 3.
- Review your pages, and then click on the Close Header and Footer icon.
