Customizing the "My Places" Navigation Bar

Customize the “My Places” navigation bar to access folders quickly.

How to:

  1. Open Word or another Microsoft Office application.
  2. Click on the menus File | Open, or the Open folder icon
  3. When the Open dialog box opens, navigate to the folder that you want to add.
  4. Click once on the folder to select it but do not open the folder!
  5. Click on the dialog box’s menu Tools and then Add to “My Places.” The folder is added as the last folder on the left side (My Places) of the dialog box.
  6. Click on the down arrow at the bottom of the My Place’s bar to display any hidden folders
