CHEW ON THIS!

Accurate information is often the key to healthy decision-making. "CHEW On This" provides information about health issues at the core of college life.

"Whenever I feel like exercising, I lie down until the feeling passes."--Robert Maynard Hutchinson.  It's important to fit fitness into a busy college life.  Here are some helpful hints to get you started:

  • Choose activities that you like doing.  It should be something you want to do not something you have to do.
  • Choose activities that are convenient.   Try to incorporate activity into your daily routine.
  • Be realistic.  You can maintain your fitness level with just 3 days of activity per week.
  • Find a buddy.  Friends help you stay motivated.
  • Take fitness breaks instead of food breaks.  Instead of reaching for the chips, cookies, or crackers, go for a ten-minute walk instead.

Remember that you'll perform better in school if you take this time for yourself.  You will be more focused and alert if you participate in regular fitness activity.
