Women's Studies Executive Committee

The Women's Studies Executive Committee administers the Concentration which operates under the College of Arts and Sciences' Dean. The Executive Committee is comprised of a Director, Faculty Development Liaison, Newsletter Editor, Annual Meeting Coordinator, and Student Liaison. Faculty are selected to these positions by the faculty teaching in the Concentration. Each position has a one year term except for the Director's position, which has a three year term.

Among the duties of the Director are student advising, controlling the budget, coordinating meetings and activities of the Executive Committee, preparing an annual report, overseeing the annual review of women's studies courses, and acting as liaison to the University community.

The Faculty Development Liaison coordinates the Concentration's ongoing development program which is open to all faculty at the University.

The Newsletter Editor collects and publishes information regarding the academic endeavors of and opportunities for Concentration faculty and students.

Each year, usually during the summer months, the Annual Meeting Coordinator invites Concentration faculty to a meeting at which courses are reviewed, the administration of the Concentration is reviewed, and the Executive Committee for the upcoming academic year is selected.

The Student Liaison acts as Moderator to the Women's Issues Forum (a student club) and assists in scheduling out-of-the classroom activities for Concentration students and faculty.
