Introduction

The Chemistry Department offers five-year BS/MA programs of study.

Undergraduate students of the University, with outstanding undergraduate records, may be eligible to be accepted and duly enrolled in a master's degree program (M.A. in Chemistry or Biochemistry) prior to graduation. A student who has achieved an overall GPA of 3.5 after 64 semester hours, 3.4 after 80 semester hours, 3.3 after 96 semester hours, or 3.2 after 112 semester hours (with at least 32 graded hours at the University) may apply for early admission to graduate study through the combined program.

Curriculum

The student in the combined program will use as many as twelve graduate credits to satisfy undergraduate major requirements. The M.A. thesis satisfies both the undergraduate and graduate thesis requirements. Please contact the Program Director for additional information and detailed curriculum outlines.
