When you take a look at the data
set, you will see several new variables that have been calculated from our
syntax.
The first is "pred" for prediction,
a score based on your ability to read (sheet 1) and identify colors (sheet
2). The second is "inter" for interference, a score reflecting the amount
that your ability to read the word interferes with your identification of
the word's color (sheet 3). The third is "lefth" for left-handedness,
a score that reflects how frequently you prefer using your left hand for the
tasks on the handedness questionnaire. The fourth is "righth" for right-handedness,
reflecting how frequently you prefer using your right hand for those tasks.
The fifth is "handed," a score that combines your right and left hand preferences
and reflects your overall hand preference.
We then transformed your computer
times to scores on the 3 Traditional Stroop Sheets (pt1score, pt3score, pt4score).
We only used parts 1, 3, and 4 because they were the ones that corresponded
to the 3 sheets on the traditional Stroop Task. Prediction and interference
scores (comppred, compintr) were then calculated using these 3 computer variables.
