Computer Stroop Task Instructions *You will not be running this study.
These instructions are here to show you how the data was derived* The Computer Stroop Task should be completed on one of the black computers in the 2nd Floor of AMH. Pick up a copy of the CD PsyCog Beta outside Dr. Cannon's office. There are 2 copies of the CD on reserve for each lab, so you're going to have to share! After inserting the CD, a window should appear. Double click on the icon PsyCog Beta program to start. Once the title page appears, you must "Click to Continue" (in the lower right hand corner) to begin the test. In the section (titled "About This Beta Version") located on the left side of your screen, scroll down to Section C-Language, and double click on 4. Written Language. Within the written language section, under the sub-heading "Experiments" you will click on the link for Ex.C.4.1a . Read and follow instructions on the screen. After clicking "next" you will be asked to save your data. Select "Save Now." NOTE: You will not be submitting this file in Assignments. It is merely being saved for your own benefit (i.e. in case the program shuts down, etc.) enter your FULL name in the "Your name" row, but leave "Other ID" and "Section" blank. Save your results on the Desktop. After you have saved. Read the instructions given to you before each of the four parts. Note: when you are given a word and asked to identify it (i.e. if the word given is green, then you must click on the green button) after you click on your answer (i.e. green) you have to return your mouse to the center (the middle of the three choices: Red, Green, Blue) in order to recieve the next word to identify. Carefully follow the instructions for all four parts of Computer Stroop Task. When you have completed all parts, click on the Date Menu drop down box and choose "Print Results." These results should be stapled to the main data sheet that you printed out from the "stroop instruction page". On this data sheet, you will only need to record your response times for each of the four parts under Part II Computer Stroop Task. |
