Undergraduate Scholarships and Fellowships At the University of Scranton

Information about scholarship assistance can be obtained from counselors, teachers, or advisors at your high school. It is also a good idea to investigate carefully the scholarship programs within your home state. Detailed information can usually be obtained from the state education office if it is not on file in your high school.


At the University of Scranton, a comprehensive program provides assistance to approximately 80% of the student body in the form of scholarships, grants, loans and work study opportunities. The Financial Aid Office (570-941-7700) is located in St. Thomas Hall, Room 401. There are has counselors available to discuss student's financial aid concerns. The University of Scranton financial aid programs include the following:

  • Scholarships: Presidential and Dean Scholarships, Loyola Scholarship, ROTC Scholarships, and various private scholarships.
  • Grants: Xavier Grant, Claver Award, Pell Grant, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, PHEAA
  • Loans: Perkins Loan, Stafford Loan, Federal PLUS loan
  • Employment: College work-study program
