Our biotechnology research and development includes extensive cutting-edge work in both DNA and protein sequencing technologies. Other biotechnology applications include analytical and diagnostic technologies involving continuum electromechanochemistry. Our mathematical finance work includes analysis and software for securities portfolio optimization, risk management, valuation of options and derivatives, and resource allocation optimizations. Much of it is founded on optimization of stochastic models.
We have developed software to assist in Coast Guard search operations, inspection of silicon wafers, fertility testing, scheduling physicians in resident training, and statistical quality control in chemical production. We also developed methods to apply search theory to oil exploration and assisted a Canadian utility company to assess risk from iceberg damage to submerged power cables.
We have gained a world-wide reputation in our operations research work for the Navy in tactical development with emphasis on decision aid software, and in modeling and software for strategic planning. Computer assistance to search operations is prominent, with applications to anti-submarine warfare, space surveillance, rescue, and lost object recovery. We provided on-scene analysis in the searches for the H-bomb lost off Spain in 1966, for the submarine Scorpion in 1968, and for the wreckage of the space shuttle Challenger in 1986.

Iterated Systems. RESEARCH SCIENTIST/ENGINEER FOR ALGORITHM DEVELOPMENT TEAM. Position will include research work linked to real problems and development. Would involve improving the existing video/image compression algorithms; research leading to development of new image/video compression algorithms as well as new techniques for associated fields such as pre-and post processing and error resilience; implementing new or existing algorithms on different software and hardware platforms; assistance in MPEG4 and other standards activities; and interacting collaboratively with other development teams. MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Mathematics Programming skills in C and/or C++ are essential. Applied research experience in industry is preferred. Our client is looking for software engineers to become members of a technical team developing new PC-based products for the graphics arts market, working with image processing, computer vision, computer graphics and GUIs.
These individuals will be responsible for assisting in algorithm development, application prototyping including rapid prototyping of alternative algorithms and interfaces, and testing of potential software products.
They are looking for individuals with a BS or MS in CS, EE, Math, Physics, or related field, C, C++, OOP, PC/Windows software development (MFC, WIN 32) or MacOS development , at least 2 years experience with OOA/OOD, use of specific OOAD CASE tools, and familiarity with commercial graphics, computer vision and/or image processing including Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator and Visual C++ .
