Lab Case Presentation Problems - 2000

A - 18. The patient is a 30 year old man who is complaining of pain in the lateral aspect of the foot that is preventing him from running.  He first noticed a “tingling and numbness” sensation about 2 weeks ago while on a long airline flight.  Now he has occasional “twinges” of pain in the low back also.

B - 47. The patient is a 35 year old man who hurt his neck while riding on a fast-moving roller coaster at the amusement park.  He says the left side of the neck and the left arm (between shoulder and elbow) hurt.

C - 26. The patient is a 33 year old man who has been referred by his family physician with a referral that states, "shoulder injury, x-rays negative, evaluate and treat".  The patient tells you he was weight lifting, and he heard a snap in the shoulder.  He now has pain and cannot move the shoulder well.  Evaluate the patient and plan the appropriate treatment program.

D - 25. You are a sports physical therapist seeing a 35 year old woman who injured her knee several hours ago while playing baseball.  She has had X-rays that were reported to be negative by her family physician, and now she presents to your office with a referral that reads "acute knee injury, evaluate and treat".
