Ann Marie Toloczko an Associate Professor of Counseling and Human Services and Director of the B.S. Counseling & Human Services Program at The University of Scranton and a licensed psychologist and licensed professional counselor with a part-time private practice. In addition she serves as the clinical supervisor of doctoral students and trainees. Dr. Toloczko is a member of the American Counseling Association, the American Psychological Association, the Pennsylvania Psychological Association, the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision.
Dr. Toloczko's research agenda focuses on the exploratory analyses of interpersonal relations and the development of empathy in late adolescents. Through a USAID grant received by her colleagues Dr. Thomas Collins, Dr. Elizabeth Jacob and Dr. Antonio Tena, she conducted a cross-cultural study with students from the Universidad Iberoamericana, a Jesuit institution in Mexico City. In addition, she was invited to provide guest lectures in research methods, assessment of intelligence and in relational/cultural theory.
The University of Scranton's mission statement calls all of the community to become women and men for others. Dr. Toloczko is a member of the Crisis Intervention Team for the Office of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Scranton for both the Pocono and Scranton regions. She is on the Board of Directors of the Burnley Employment and Rehabilitation Services and active in other community and university service.
"Dr. T.", as she is called by her CHS undergraduate and graduate students is engaging, passionate and encouraging. She lives in the Pocono Mountains is re-energized by golf, photography, gardening, reading and family and friends.
