Currently, most of the upper level (i.e., 300 level and 400 level) courses do not have prerequisites.

HRS 340 Compensation and Benefits (3 credits) HRS 351 Recruitment, Selection, And Staffing (3 credits) HRS 353 HR Information Systems  (3 credits) (current prereq PSYC 210 - Psychological Statistics)
HRS 380 Human Resources Career Seminar (1 credit)
HRS 390 Directed Study (3 credits)
HRS 440 Human Resources Internship (3 credits)
HRS 480 Human Resources Leadership Seminar (3 credits)

In order to allow the upper level courses to build upon
the general body of HR knowledge, I propose that these courses each have
the following prerequisite:

"HRS 111 Macro HR and HRS 112 Micro HR, or permission
of instructor"

The "permission of instructor" portion of the prerequisites is included solely to allow juniors and seniors who are transferring into the program to simultaneously register for the introductory courses and the upper level courses.

In addition, I propose that the prerequisite PSYC 210 - Psychological Statistics be dropped from HRS 353 HR Information
Systems.  Due to the structure of the 4 year HRS curriculum, students will be required to take PSYC 210 (freshman year) prior to HRS 353 (junior year), so the removal of the prerequisite designation from the catalogue is primarily for administrative ease.
