At the 6 February 2001 Department of Education meeting, the faculty passed the following modified motion:

Effective with the 2001-02 academic year, students applying for admission to the Department of Education administration program, supervision program, or assistant superintendent/superintendent program must submit recent scores received on either the Graduate Record Examination or the Miller Analogies Test.  The test must have been taken within the last five years.

The modified motion applies only to "advanced" programs; therefore, it should ameliorate the concerns of the Graduate Dean's Conference who felt that applying it to graduate instructional programs in the department could have a deleterious effect on enrollments.
