BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSAL:

This course, taught in Italian, will be offered as part of the
University of Scranton’s Summer Program in Italy.  It will be taught on
site in Italy, and will provide students with the basic communication
skills and knowledge of culture necessary for living in Italy while
participating in the Program. This is a 1.5-credit course.  It was
unanimously approved by the members of the Department of Foreign
Languages and Literatures.  The University of Scranton’s second Summer
Program will be held in Rome in June 2001.
