Message from the Director of Health-Professional School Placement, Mary F. Engel, Ph.D.:

If you intend to be a successful applicant to a doctoral-level health professions school, it is in your best interest to become and remain an active member of the HPO. Your officers have worked very hard all summer to prepare a valuable and exciting semester of activities. The information you are able to receive, as a member of the Health Professions Organization, is simply not available to you anywhere else on campus. Please do not expect that the Director of Medical School Placement will be able to present to you on an individual basis the information available to you as a member of HPO. Join in your freshman year and contribute to the organization. If you aspire to a future in the health profession, HPO is your organization. Not being an active member of the HPO will send all the wrong signals to anyone who reviews your file. It is your responsibility to become aware of the information presented at HPO meetings.
