Student Doctor Network Disclaimer
As stated on the Student Doctor Network
website, "The Student Doctor Network...is operated by a small group of unpaid volunteers
that are dedicated to providing students unbiased information"
(emphasis added).
As a result, pre-medical students should
remember that SDN is NOT an official source of information about
undergraduate institutions, medical schools, or the MCAT. Therefore, any information, comments, or
statistics which are found on this website should be taken with a grain
of salt.
Additionally, some of the individuals who
post on SDN are EXTREMELY intelligent and motivated individuals.
Therefore, pre-medical students should avoid comparing themselves to
these individuals,
lest they become discouraged or anxious about the application process.
Remember, not everyone in the country has a 41 on the MCAT!
Taking these facts into consideration, SDN
can still be very useful in certain areas. For instance,
pre-medical students can use the SDN forums ask fellow pre-medical (and
medical) students questions about the application process.
Additionally, one can use the SDN interview feedback forum to gain a rough
understanding of how each medical school conducts its interview day.
To sum up this disclaimer, the Student Doctor Network can be
a useful resource, but please be cautious if you choose to utilize
this resource.
