Q: Should I read the New York Times daily in order to increase my vocabulary and knowledge of current events?
A: Yes. The New York Times is available for free in DeNaples (by the 2nd floor elevators and by Starbucks), St Thomas Hall, the library, and the Hyland Cafe.

Q: Are HPO meetings mandatory?
A: No, they aren't mandatory, but who doesn't want to learn more about their future career?

Q: Do I need to decide my medical specialization right now?
A: No, if you are unsure of what kind of health professional you would like to be, do not feel bad! Attending HPO meetings and perhaps shadowing different physicians and other health care professionals will give you a better idea of what fits the kind of person you are.

Q: When do I apply for medical school?
A: You apply during the year before you intend to matriculate into medical school, or the spring and summer of your junior year.

Q: If I don't get into medical school, what other options do I have?
A: You could get a job, attend graduate school, or do service for a year. However, you can apply to medical school as many times as you want, so don't give up!
