• Be a student who by academic standard, character, high school and college activities evidences greatest promise for dedicated professionalism, humanitarian concerns, social welfare, service and quality of leadership exemplified by the late Dr. Shair.
• Be a graduating senior at the University of Scranton who is accepted or will be accepted at an accredited dental school in 2002.
• Submit three letters of recommendation* and a written essay to Dr. Mary Engel, Director of Fellowship Programs, BY MARCH 4.  The essay should explain your reasons for applying and discuss your qualifications for receiving the award.

* Note to Applicants: The letters of recommendation may be from the same faculty who wrote letters for your HPEC file, but Dr. Engel is unable to release the HPEC file itself.  If the faculty recommender requires a copy of the letter, please ask him or her to contact Dr. Engel at x7901 or at engelm1@scranton.edu.
