of Scranton Psychology Club

PREAMBLE
As members of the community of scholars at the University
of Scranton, we believe that students should have the opportunity to join
an organization that encourages their interest in the field of psychology.
The Psychology Club is a non-profit, student-run organization. This
club is designed for the purpose of further education, community service,
and social interaction within the psychology department and also outside
of the classroom.
ARTICLE I
PURPOSE:
The purpose of The Psychology club is to:
A. Create a greater awareness and interest in the field
of psychology.
B. Offer more social interaction between students, faculty,
and members of the profession.
C. Provide opportunities to help the community through
volunteer work and hands-on experience with underprivileged members of society.
ARTICLE II
MEMBERSHIP:
Section I: Membership of The Psychology Club is open to all students
who are currently enrolled at the University of Scranton who show an interest
in the field of psychology.
Section II: The amount of dues will be set by the officers each semester.
Section III: All who have paid the dues are entitled to all benefits
and opportunities extended to members of The Psychology Club.
Section IV: In order to remain active, members of The Psychology Club
must attend a minimum of two (2) service activities per semester.
ARTICLE III
OFFICERS:
Section I: Elections shall be held at the beginning of each Spring
semester in order to ensure that the responsibilities of officers are understood
by the newly elected officers.
Section II: Elections are to follow a standard procedure: including
nominations followed by a secret ballot.
Section III: It is the duty of the officers to keep a yearly record
of all budget affairs, activities, and service events.
