What do ResCons do?
ResCons provide network connectivity troubleshooting and ResNet software support to students using in-room Ethernet connections. This involves reading email and checking problem tracking software online, accepting problems, calling students to make appointments to resolve their computer problems, resolving the problem, entering a solution into the problem tracking software and closing the problem.
They work Royal Welcome weekend in the Byron center and are dispatched out to resolve network connectivity problems. They also communicate and provide feedback to University administrators regarding the residential networking program and keep them abreast of issues as they occur.
NOTE: ResCons DO NOT SUPPORT problems with application software, printers, modems, or disk drives. ResCons also do not install Ethernet network cards - students should contact a local vendor for this service.
How can I apply for a ResCon position?
