How About Some History of The Scranton Norsemen...
The Norsemen were founded in 1985 by a group of eager
individuals excited about the game of rugby. Since that time the club has
evolved into one of the most competitive teams in Eastern Pennsylvania.
Competing at the Division 1 level, the Norsemen went to their first playoff
game in team history in the Fall of 1996. Unfortunately, we lost. However,
this year the team made it all the way to the quarter finals of the Championship
tournament and suffered a close loss to the number one seed. The team intends
to continue their success on the field in the years to come, but the story
of the Norsemen does not end here. Unlike most organizations similar to
the Norsemen, we have a commitment to our school and community off of the
field. For example many players hold many different offices and positions
around the school:
