FALL 1996 ACTIVITIES
For the most part, Fall 1996 was spent getting the club established.
Despite this fact, we did manage to hold a large fundraiser. We had a 31-day raffle, for which participants purchase a ticket that allows them to win on any day in the month. Random numbers are chosen that correspond to the Pennsylvania Lottery Daily Number to facilitate access and insure impartiality. Check out the winning numbers!
SPRING 1997 ACTIVITIES
Spring 1997 promises to be a busy semester for the club. On the roster are the following activities:
NYC Tri p- This trip was originally planned for Fall, but had been postponed. It is now tentatively set for March 10th. The day will involve touring several advertising agencies in the Big Apple. Additional information will be posted as it is available.
Advertising Hall of Fame Luncheon- On March 27th, six members will represent our chapter at this luncheon, held at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City, to induct Jo Foxworth, Morris L. Hite, William E. LaMothe, and Frank Mingo into this exclusive club. Congratulations to each of the inductees, and we look forward to seeing you there!
The One Show 1997 College Competition- This year, The One Show is offering its Gold Pencil for a 3-ad print campaign tailored to Sushi Tugo, a nationwide chain of sushi restaurants featuring fast-food convenience. This campaign should be something special. We'll let you know how we do.
An other event under consideration for this semester is the Clio Awards competition. Submissions are due in April, so we'll have to see if the club prepares anything by then. The great aspect of this particular competition is that there are several media and categories in which to enter. Whereas many other competitions constrain the creative mind, the Clio Awards allows for whatever type of creativity the individual excels at.
We are also planning our first Spring 1997 fund raiser. We intend to sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts. The deal also includes a complimentary bag of coffee with each order of 3 dozen. This fundraiser will probably take place during March. Watch for more details!
