My
name is Michael Bybel and I'm a sophomore
student (class of 2010) at
The University of Scranton. Currently, I'm pursuing a
double-major in Business Administration and Marketing, with a minor in English.
My hometown is Norwalk,
Connecticut which is approximately 45 minutes via car from
New York City (30 minutes via passenger train). Norwalk is well known for its
beaches, golf courses, and historic districts.
A little more than a year ago, I completed
my studies at
Fairfield Prep, a Jesuit high
school. There, I ran indoor/outdoor track for all four years,
switching back from sprinting to long distance
during seasons.
I have a strong passion for the arts. For six years, I've been
studying and playing the piano and, currently, am working on pieces of my own.
Literature has always been a huge part of my life as well; I look to turn it
into a career upon completion of college (you may view a presentation depicting
my plans for publishing by clicking the "presentation" tab above). I realized
this after my most recent internship with author and photographer Sally
Weiner Grotta. I assisted her on a personal project of hers called
The Wordsmiths Project
where we went and interviewed "the people behind
publishing" to see what really made the publishing industry a living, breathing
entity. Her project was recently displayed at BookExpo America in New York City.
