The intention of this experiment is to discover if there’s a relationship between people who report having repressed and recovered memories of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) and reality monitoring. Studies have shown that people who report having recovered and repressed memories are more likely to confuse memories they perceived and imagined. The purpose of this study is to show that individuals who claim to have repressed and recovered memories of CSA are more likely to confuse actions and actions they imagine doing, when compared to people who report no or continuous abuse. The VVIQ, DES and the Absorption Scale questionnaires will also be used. If the results validate the hypothesis, this suggests the easiness in which false memories and accusations can be produced.
