Expected Results

An Independent T-test will be run to yield results that individuals who report having recovered and repressed memories of childhood sexual abuse will be more likely to confuse imagined and performed actions.  They will make more mistakes (false alarms) then those who had no or continuous memories of abuse.

An ANOVA will be run to yield results that individuals who report having recovered and repressed memories of childhood sexual abuses, that have high vividness ratings for imagined actions, will be more likely to confuse their imaginations with their performed actions.

 Future Research

Future research should be done to see the effect of reality monitoring deficiencies on emotional events and episodic memories.

Further research should also examine the relationship between mental disorders, reality                 monitoring deficits and the likelihood of claiming to have repressed and recovered                     memories
