This
article concerns the advancement of virtual reality as therapy. When first
developed it was used to treat certain simple phobias like fear of heights but
now is being expanded to help with things like sexual dysfunction or eating
disorders. Original research concerned different specific phobias such as fear
or flying, acrophobia, or fear of driving.
I
think this article was the most comprehensive I have found regarding virtual
reality therapy and I found the premise to be interesting. I think it is a
positive thing that with all of the new technology coming out some of it is
being used to benefit those with mental disorders as well.
