This article discusses the idea of a computer program, originally used to treat general anxiety disorder, being used to treat individuals with social phobia. The program has a diary to keep records of anxiety and also to guide the person in relaxation, cognitive-restructuring and self-control desensitization. After following one individual through six sessions with the program, this study shows that the use of the program for people with social phobia is highly effective.
This article provides insight into another method of treatment for social phobia rather than traditional therapy. I found this article interesting and thought it useful for describing an alternative method of treatment.
