The Effect of Stress on Long-Term Memory of College Students
Brianna
M. Mew
The intention of this study is to determine a
relationship between stress and long term memory of college students. The study
will be conducted at a Northeastern Pennsylvania
university. The purpose of this study is to show that college students under
stress have a decreased ability to form new long term memories as compared to
college students not exposed to stress. The ability to form new long term
memories will be assessed by level of repeated recall of Bartlett’s War of the Ghosts. If the
results show the hypothesis to be true students can reevaluate their learning
and study so as to improve the retention level of new long-term memories
improving the overall quality of their education.
