Participants

 

Teachers

·     Two teachers from each of three grades (second, fourth, & sixth)

·     Varying experience as teacher

·     Expected to be mostly white middle-aged females

·     Middle socioeconomic class

·     College Educated with Bachelor Degree and State Certified Teacher

·     Teaches approximately 30 child classes

·     Teach in small town school district in Northeastern Pennsylvania

·     Taught students participants the previous year

 

Students

·    Previous year’s second, forth, or sixth graders

·     Mostly white

·     Previous years ages range from 6-9 for the second graders, 9-11 for the forth graders, 11-13 for the sixth graders

·     Mostly middle to low socioeconomic class

·     Most have pictures of students from previous year

·     Live in small town school district in Northeastern Pennsylvania

·     Expected 50% Male, 50% Female

 

Independent Observers

·     Undergraduate students at a liberal arts college in Northeastern Pennsylvania

·     Psychology Majors

·     Participation was voluntary
